Prior to the opening of Marshall University's School of Art and Design, the Visual Arts Center (VAC), Pullman Square sponsored an art competition for a design to be painted on a fiberglass bison to be installed in the Square across from the VAC, representing the New Connections that the art department would bring to Downtown Huntington.
My design - consisting of 8 segments, representing the 8 area of art emphases - was selected to be painted on the bison, who I named "Nexus," which means "a hub or center, from which things radiate."
Nexus is composed of fiberglass, automotive paint, balsa wood, vinyl stickers (with photos by Lexi Browning), and bondo.
